GenICam / GigE Vision Software Interface

The GenICam software interface, in conjunction with the GigE Vision interface, enables easy integration of infrared cameras into existing systems. The cameras are automatically detected.

Plug & Play-integration of Cameras via GenICam Interface

InfraTec's infrared cameras are used in many industrial applications for process monitoring and similar tasks. Integration can be achieved using the IRBIS® software or an optional software development kit (SDK) from InfraTec.

Alternatively, the established GigE Vision interface in conjunction with the GenICam API allows particularly easy integration of InfraTec infrared cameras into standard-compliant software such as Halcon Machine Vision Software. Unlike the SDK, this does not require any programming by the user.

GenICam API uses an XML file stored in the camera to configure and control the camera. When connected, the user software reliably recognizes the devices regardless of the model (plug & play integration). The open GenICam standard, originally created for visual cameras, has been adapted for thermal imaging cameras and, in conjunction with GigE Vision, allows immediate control and operation of the connected InfraTec infrared cameras. The standardized GigE Vision interface is used for image transmission of the thermal image data.
