Thermographic analysis of processes with rapidly changing temperatures requires an infrared camera that is capable of high frame rates. The infrared camera ImageIR® 9400 hs from InfraTec offers exactly that - combined with an outstanding thermal resolution and extremely short integration times of only a few microseconds.

The measurement system enables the creation and storage of thermographic sequences with very high frame rates ranging up to some kHz. The thermal behaviour of high-speed processes can be monitored and analysed. An example is the optimisation of airbags as the heat distribution during the explosion can well be analysed.
High-speed thermography with frame rates of more than 100 kHz are based on special detectors and acquisition units. Especially their ability to acquire and read out data in parallel provides thermographic measurements precisely in a millisecond range. Those detectors are so-called snapshot detectors which are integrated by InfraTec in their ImageIR® infrared camera series.
In order to make particularly small structures clearly visible, an infrared camera with a large detector format is suitable. In some cases, special measurement and testing tasks require a further increase in spatial resolution. In the field of micro-thermography, high-performance infrared microscopic lenses are used for this purpose. Their benefits can be further increased in conjunction with Solid Immersion Lenses (SIL). Mounted on the optics, these immersion media significantly improve the resolution of even the smallest structures in the µm range.
