Avoid Measurement Errors Using Highest Geometrical Resolution of (1,280 × 720) Infrared Pixels

It is equipped with a cooled focal-plane-array photon detector with a format of (1,280 × 720) IR pixels. In combination with the outstanding thermal resolution of 0.025 K (25 mK), very high frame rates of 120 Hz and extremely short integration times of only a few microseconds, this camera offers you a whole new range of applications.

Detect Smallest Temperature Differences Using High Thermal Resolution of 25 mK

The thermal resolution of the ImageIR® infrared camera series allows you to measure smallest temperature differences of 25 mK (at 30 °C). Thermal images with a narrow temperature span display details absolutely sharp. You will find interesting signatures even there where other infrared camera systems cannot detect any temperature differences any longer.

Integrated Trigger and Process Interfaces

The camera series ImageIR® is equipped with a snapshot detector as well as with an internal trigger interface, which guarantees a repeatable high-precision triggering. Two respective in- and outputs are used to operate the camera or to generate digital control signals for external devices. Two digital channels of the data stream can be recorded synchronously with those trigger inputs. Additional digital and analogue in- and outputs are available in connection with the process interface IRBIS® 3 process. Furthermore, extra information will be saved directly with the images.

MicroScan and Modular System

MicroScan – Quadruple the Image Format

Behind the function is a fast-rotating MicroScan wheel, which is integrated into the camera. It ensures that four different individual exposures are taken per wheel revolution, which are offset laterally by half a pixel each. These individual exposures are brought together in real time into a thermogram with quadruple image format. Each pixel in the image represents a genuine temperature measured value and not an interpolated image point. In this way, thermography achieves a new quality due to thermal images providing a spatial resolution up to 3.7 Megapixels.

Take Advantage of the Modular Concept for Your Flexibility

The closed, industrial-suited, high-strength aluminium alloy housing is very compact and protects the sensitive sensors and electronics even during roughest applications. It impresses with its low weight. The modular design allows for an application-specific configuration and later adaptation to varying demands. The interfaces are equipped with push-on connectors to uphold the degree of protection.

10 GigE Interface for a Strong Increase in Output

Thermographic camera series ImageIR® with new 10 GigE interface

The new 10 Gigabit Ethernet interface of the high-end camera series ImageIR® opens this extremely fast transmission standard with a NIC specially developed by InfraTec. This works with optical or electrical transceiver modules that are easy to change and are called SFP+. For all models of the ImageIR® 8300 hp with their (640 × 480) IR pixel detectors this leads to a transfer rate in the full frame mode up to 355 Hz. Users can store large quantities of data to a computer easily and reliably.

Different 10 GigE fiber SFP+ transceivers allow transmission ranges of up to ten kilometers with the same low sensitivity to electromagnetic interference. A corresponding standard SFP ensures backward compatibility with the conventional GigE interface. This combination allows the ease of use of the cameras with the new 10 Gigabit Ethernet interface in existing systems - though at a reduced transmission rate.

Master the Most Complex Measurement and Inspection Tasks Yourself

High object temperatures or specific material characteristics of the measurement objects can make analysis with thermographic systems considerably more challenging. For such cases, InfraTec offers equipment with an optional aperture wheel and filter wheel. It is motorised and can be operated through the camera controller.

For example, if extremely high temperatures on objects are measured, the apertures weaken the respective radiation accordingly. With calibrated measurement ranges, a previously determined aperture is automatically selected and used for image recording.

If specific emission or transmission characteristics of the measurement object make the task more difficult, users can equip the aperture wheel and filter wheel of ImageIR® with filters. As a result, the camera's range of use is expanded to cover the area of spectral thermography. In this way, transmission is prevented with thin foils and only their purely emitted radiation is recorded for temperature measurement. The wheel offers room for up to five spectral filters or apertures, so the thermography system can be adapted to target the measurement and inspection task on site.

Solid Immersion Lens (SIL) for ImageIR®

In order to make particularly small structures clearly visible, an infrared camera with a large detector format is suitable. In some cases, special measurement and testing tasks require a further increase in spatial resolution. In the field of micro-thermography, high-performance infrared microscopic lenses are used for this purpose. Their benefits can be further increased in conjunction with Solid Immersion Lenses (SIL). Mounted on the optics, these immersion media significantly improve the resolution of even the smallest structures in the µm range.
