New long wavelength version
LFP-80105-337 operating in the 8.0-10.5 µm
(Rosemont, Illinois USA – June 2011) – Judges
from SENSOR e-Magazine and the SENSOR EXPO
staff awarded InfraTec GmbH the Gold Award
for excellence in design innovation and ease
of use in the Sensor Component category.
Held every year in June at the Donald E.
Stephens Convention Center near Chicago’s
O’Hare airport, SENSOR EXPO brings together
a wide selection of exhibitors representing
manufacturers of wireless, pressure, gas,
flow meters and other related technologies.
This year’s awards went to Gold, Silver,
Bronze and Honorable Mentioned awards in the
areas of Sensor, Sensor Components,
Technologies and Data Acquisition.
InfraTec had submitted, via its North
American subsidiary InfraTec Infrared LLC,
the product ”Tunable Microspectrometer
Detector” for consideration. In the highly
competitive category of Sensor Components
InfraTec stood up against well-known
competition. Having already received awards
from the German ”AMA-Sensorinnovationspreis“
in 2008 and the SPIE Prism Award 2009 we
have maintained our position as an industry
leader in design and innovation with this
Fabry-Perot Microspectrometer.
This result could only be achieved by
excellent collaboration with our colleagues
from both the Center for Microtechnologies
at the Chemnitz University of Technology and
the Fraunhofer Research Institution for
Electronic Nano Systems ENAS. It emphasizes
the innovation potential of our region in
the field of unique technologies and
products.
The microspectrometer product family has
already been brought to market for the
wavelength region between 3.0- 4.1µm and
3.9- 4.8µm. The development in 2010 of this
new long wavelength version LFP-80105-337
operating in the 8.0-10.5 µm is a further
confirmation of the design potential for FPI
technology at InfraTec and its development
partners.
