(Grapevine, TX, February 1, 2010) - On
January 27, 2010 InfraTec was awarded the
2009 Prism Award for Detectors, Sensors and
Imaging Systems at SPIE Photonics West in
San Francisco.
InfraTec submitted our new Fabry-Perot detector in
2008 for consideration. There were 28 devices in the
detector category, with the list being shaved down
to 3 companies for the final awards banquet
Wednesday night January 27th, 2010. Before hundreds
of attendees at the San Francisco Hilton, InfraTec
was named winner of the 2009 award.
SPIE and
Laurin Publishing started the annual Prism Award for
Photonics Innovation in 2009 for products new to the market in 2008 (www.photonicsprismaward.com).
It is an international competition for companies
with photonics products that break conventional
ideas, solve problems, improve life with photonics -
and make money. There are 10 categories which
include lasers, optics, life sciences and, of course,
the one for Detectors, Sensors and Imaging systems.
It was a great
honor to be chosen the winner over so many
contenders for this prestigious award. We appreciate
the honor, but noted that all of the companies in
the competition were winners, because they have used
their creative spirit to make dreams realities that
can improve our world.
We salute the hard work of the R&D Department at
InfraTec GmbH in Dresden Germany for their
creativity.
